Crowdfunders dream of abandoned sea fort rave
A campaign has launched to transform an abandoned sea fort in the Thames Estuary into a ‘Berghain in the sea’.
Anyone who donates a fiver will be given a ‘fort membership for life’. Promoters say 150,000 people parting with five gold coins would give them the £750,000 needed to turn this into a floating club fortress.
The Guardian reported last week the ‘bomb-proof’ fort was on the market for half a million pounds, so that extra £250,000 would go towards making it safe for pirates and techno vikings. Make sure you pack your sea legs and some sort of boat – the place is completely surrounded by the wet stuff at high tide.
